METALIGHT NEW YORK by Christine Galvez
STORY
I was born in the south of France. As a child, I loved playing in my father's workshop, with his tools and sparks. My father inspired my desire to learn welding, essential to the creation of my own lighting.
After spending ten years in finance in Paris, life offered me the opportunity to move to New York to fully embrace this passion at The Art Students League of New York.
I love metal in all of its aspects: sparkling, rusty, crude... My works embody a rebirth of industrial objects, perhaps a part rescued from a long abandoned car, transformed and given new life in luminous, iridescent lighting.
